IMPROVE YOUR GOLF SWING
Golfing is a very popular sport these days and it’s also a wonderful way to relax and just have a good time in a very fashionable manner. Unlike any other sports out there, you can’t learn golf in school or by playing it with your friends. No, golfers need to develop their skills right there on the field. And most golfers usually pick up their golf swing in two different ways. One of the modality to learn how to swing and then to perfect on your swing is by trial and error. You keep on swinging until you get it right. Of course, for this you need to have good observational skills and you should be able to analyze yourself. It would be indicated though to have a friend or trainer beside you who can correct your errors and make sure you don’t commit them again.
Another way to improve your golf swing and maybe to reduce your slice is to pay for lessons. Many might have become good players on their own but golf is very famous on being a rather difficult game to master so hiring an instructor to show you the way can be quite necessary for most people who want to play golf but they are beginners. The first method is kind of prone to fail unless you have a friend who’s really good at golf and he’s willing to show you the right way to swing. But if you want to get really good, and maybe better your friend, the second route is the way to go on improving your swing. It might be the only road to success. With the right guidance, a healthy dose of determination you can become a really good player. There’s nothing like receiving compliments on your amazing abilities, I’m sure you can agree with me on that
THE TWO COMPONENTS OF A PERFECT SWING
If you decide on either route, the one thing that always stays the same is the need to practice your swing. Make sure you don’t go rusty, try to practice it each and every day. Also keep in mind that mastering a great swing is not something you could learn in one afternoon. You can get an idea or two about it in that amount of time, true but to fully master a good swing you need to practice it. There many components that if you add together you can get the perfect swing. These components are the turning of the body and the swinging of the arms. The instructor or your friend who’s good at golf might show you how you need to turn your body but to really learn it you must practice it at home. With patience and diligence you will get there!
Now let’s take these two components one at a time. Never try to do more than you can handle. Take your time and do it a step at a time. Let’s start with the turning of the body. You need to learn and understand that in order for you to have a great and very effective swing you must turn your torso in a near to horizontal plane. This plane must necessarily be at the right angle to the spine and along the line of the shoulders.
I know this might be pretty hard for you to imagine but there are so many videos out there on the internet and especially on YouTube that will show you exactly on how to have a great swing. Head out online and seek out these videos. Most of them are free and they’re also pretty amazing. This is yet another great way to practice: by looking at the TV or your computer and do as the guy in the video I doing or telling you to do. This can do wonders, I promise!
The other great component of an effective swing is the swinging of the arms and here is how it’s done. The arm swing should be nearly as possible aimed at the golf ball. Your body then turns so it would allow your arms to swing. Your shoulders out to remain as relaxed as they possibly can so that your upper body an move in one sweet fluid motion. Again, this is pretty hard to follow by only reading, the great way to pick up the right method is to watch someone else at work. You don’t need to be on the golf court with him to be able to see how it’s effectively executed. There are plenty video tutorials on the web which you can view for free. A lot of pro golf experts have numerous sites and they’re willing to teach you for free.
DOWNSWING AND UPSWING
If you read the above two paragraphs about the two components you might think it’s pretty straightforward and that you could pick it up in a couple of days. But that’s pretty false. In theory all looks pretty simple to execute but in practice, as you will soon come to find out, it’s very hard to successfully integrate these two motions. Within these two main components we also have other smaller components on which you should also always concentrate. Let’s take the golf swing for example: in this motion we have two other components and these are called the backswing and the downswing. Now by the name you might have already guessed what they’re about. The backswing is the action when the golf club is lifted to the right side of the torso (if you’re a right-handed person, of course) from the beginner position. And the downswing is the action of your golf club being brought down so that it could hit the ball.
It doesn’t seem so simple now, does it? Instead of two things to focus one now you have more than 4. But don’t worry, with the right amount of practice and with the right guidance you can develop a great and effective swing. But now let’s analyze a bit more closer these components and see how they work and what effect they have on your overall golfing skills.
If we look at the backswing we should know that it’s highly essential in our overture of skills as it allows the golf club to move in a more circular orbit round the golf player. If you want the golf club to progress in and up you should be extra careful at your body and how it’s being turned. The downswing starts from the top of the swing. Make sure you are sliding your hips in the correct way: from back to left. This is essential because it tightens your body and lets you hit the ball with much more power and improve on the trajectory of the golf ball.
FLUID AND EFFORTLESS
These are all things that you professional trainer should show to you. Although he might teach them in a different style, these components are all valid for you to have a great swing. These will definitely enable you to get better and achieve great skills which you can show off to your friends. In time, with the right amount of practice and guidance, you will see that you will be getting better and better at it, the culmination point being when your golf swing appears to be one seamless and effortless motion. That’s when you’ll know your hours of practice and training have paid off.
Remember that it’s a skill you won’t learn in just a day or two. It might look like you could but in reality, a good golf swing is a very complex combination of how you turn your torso and how you swing your arms, plus the downswing and the upswing. If you master each one you will be a great player. If you master each but one, you will still be a lesser player. Golfing is not that easy as it looks on the TV. Only with practice and determination you can make others think so.
